The Academy of Performing Arts was founded in January 2004 by Sheila Garvey. Their ethos is to provide the best dance, singing and drama training to children aged 3-20 in a fun, enjoyable and positive way. They have been running classes in Ratoath for over 10years now where they teach dance (tap, hip hop & jazz) singing and drama. They have a very dedicated team and offer a wide variety of expertise in all areas.

During the year students are given many opportunities to develop confidence, self-esteem and communication skills through classes, shows and pantomimes. Students who wish to take exams in musical theatre, verse & prose or acting can do so with the academy via London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. While these examinations are encouraged, they are not compulsory.

They believe in encouraging their students and as a result, The Academy recognises one student each month with a “Student of the Month” award. Furthermore, they present one lucky student with a special award “Student of the Year”. This student receives a scholarship which entitles them to free tuition for a year.

Since opening The Agency of Performing Arts, many of their students were selected for television commercials, professional stage productions, photo shoots, film work, fashion shows and extras. Their productions to date include 2004: Musical Magic, 2006: A Disney Spectacular, 2007: Legends, 2009: Annie, 2010: Grease Lightning, 2012: Wizard of Oz, 2014: Beauty and The Beast, 2016: Oliver.
